Advent Week 3 - Friday December 17, 2021


Psalm 40: 1-3

1 I waited patiently for the Lord;

he inclined to me and heard my cry.

2 He drew me up from the desolate pit,[a]

out of the miry bog,

and set my feet upon a rock,

making my steps secure.

3 He put a new song in my mouth,

a song of praise to our God.

Many will see and fear,

and put their trust in the Lord.

An interesting thing happened on my way to comment on today's Shadow and Light Advent Study. Today's painting caused me pause as the artist's setting is foreign to me. I am curious about the writing on the wall? But I took comfort in seeing the Trinity - God shining as the Star in the window, the Holy Spirit present in the fire, and Jesus blazing as an infant represented in the arms of a foreign world.

Next I clicked on the recommended song. The You Tube link continued to play more songs from The Brilliance, so I slowed down and listened to three more songs. And lo and behold, what did I see to the right of my screen, b…
