Psalm 41: 1-3

1 Happy are those who consider the poor; the Lord delivers them in the day of trouble. 2 The Lord protects them and keeps them alive; they are called happy in the land. You do not give them up to the will of their enemies. 3 The Lord sustains them on their sickbed; in their illness you heal all their infirmities.

Today I give a joyful shoutout to Tsh Oxenreider for her 2020 book, Shadow & Light. Since 1987, the year I discovered Polar Express by Chris Van Allsburg, I have collected newly published children Christmas books and chosen my favorite one of that year to gift along with story supporting, usually handmade, ornaments. The first thing that caught my eye in today's picture was the cat sitting at the foot of Mary. In 2013, The Christmas Cat by MaryAnn MacDonald was my book choice. My Christmas Book Tradition brings me joy every year.

I give another early morning joyful shoutout to Mary Alice for creating our church blog and bringing Tsh's daily recommended Psalm, Picture and Song to my computer.…
